As a taxpayer and your constituent, I respectfully urge you to cosponsor H.R. 1827, the Pausing Enhanced Pandemic Pathogen Research Act.

It’s mind-blowing to me that NIH’s poor oversight of the dangerous animal experiments it funded likely caused the deaths of over one million Americans.

After years of work in Congress, the President has declassified the government’s intelligence on COVID’s origins. President Biden’s Energy Department, FBI, and two-thirds of Democratic and Republican taxpayers now believe that a lab leak in Wuhan caused COVID.

When did the American people vote to make viruses from remote bat colonies more infectious and deadly?

The White Coat Waste Project (WCW) first exposed this back in 2020; the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) was performing NIH-funded cruel and wasteful experiments on bats and humanized mice to make a naturally occurring virus more dangerous.

I don’t want my tax dollars going to slush funds for well-connected experimenters intent on making world-ending viruses.

Most of the country agrees that this “gain-of-function” research requires a closer look. Let’s do that now before the next superbug is created.

Please cosponsor H.R. 1827, the Pausing Enhanced Pandemic Pathogen Research Act.

The bill would pause gain-of-function research for five years to give Congress time to investigate the risks and the rewards. It would let our elected representatives in Congress—and not bureaucrats and animal experimenters at the NIH—set a comprehensive national policy.

It would save our tax dollars and likely lives — pets and people.
