President Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched the largest resurgence of taxpayer-funded animal testing in U.S. government history. The EPA is even killing lab bunnies who were previously retired from experimentation.

As a {user_data~State} taxpayer and your constituent, I was troubled to learn from government watchdog White Coat Waste Project that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is reversing their ban on animal testing.

A White Coat Waste Project investigation exposed the millions of dollars in taxpayer money used to pick up the annual tab for the 20,000 animals who were made to eat lard and then inhale diesel exhaust and smog at the hands of EPA white coats.

In 2019, after White Coat Waste Project's year-long campaign, the EPA agreed to fully end all requirements for, and funding of, testing on mammals by 2035—with a 30 percent reduction of both by 2025.

Now, I am learning that the EPA is reversing their decision, eliminating the established dates to end animal testing. Like a majority of my fellow Americans, I oppose my tax dollars being wasted on cruel and inefficient animal testing.

Each year, billions of my tax dollars are wasted to torture animals across the federal government. Many of these labs violate federal spending and transparency laws.

I hope you will join bipartisan efforts to crack down on illegality and urge all federal agencies to cut all wasteful spending all animals.
